The Moody Mariner's Mantel Collection

Collection includes: ten sea-worthy treasures

Two original works of art anchor this nautically-inspired collection. The larger watercolor painting offers a tight view of a stormy sea from the port-side riggings. The smaller oil depicts a skiff moored in a dark cove. Perched atop a dark woodblock is a brass sailboat. I added in lots of texture via sand, shells, seaweed, and driftwood. And of course a book. This one is the naval classic, Mister Roberts. The story unfolds on the USS Reluctant that "sails from apathy to tedium with occasional side trips to monotony and ennui."
  • Original oil, artist unknown, gorgeous brushstrokes and texture, rustic barnwood frame (8.75" x 11")
  • Original watercolor, G. Cunforer, framed in black and gold with white matte, (22" x 27")
  • Sailboat, brass, vintage, very good condition (7" x 10")
  • Woodblock, stained, vintage, excellent condition (4" x 6")
  • Stoppered bottles, set of three, containing sand, shells, and seaweed, with corks, vintage, excellent condition (5" x 4")
  • Driftwood, two pieces, of unknown origin, (7" x 3.5")
  • Mister Roberts by Thomas Heggen, copyright 1946, hard cover, good condition (8.25" x 5.75")

The collection, as shown in the image, measures 50" across and 27" high.

Shipping costs are included. Also, please note that everything I sell, and I mean everything, is used, antique, vintage, etc. That means sometimes scratched, dented, and worn. Imperfect. Not dusty, though. Or dirty.
