Created in the 1940s or '50s, over eighty pieces hand-stitched and machine quilted in a checkerboard pattern of fine wool fabrics, tweed, cotton velvets and boucle. It is backed in a super soft purple and pale green floral flannel. So many of these fabrics are straight off the Scottish Isle, making this quilt a very masculine take on a feminine art. Also, and perhaps most importantly, this quilt passes my very stringent "sniff test." It's perfect for cozying up by a fireplace with a cup of tea or a whiskey.
- Patchwork quilt, wool, cotton, velvet, flannel fabrics, vintage from the 1940s or '50s, checkerboard pattern, hand and machine stitched, very good condition with minor loose threads, some wear in the top layer, and no musty smell (twin bed sized at 59” x 79”)
Please note that shipping costs are included. Also, everything that I sell, and I mean everything, is used, antique, vintage, etc. That means sometimes scratched, dented, and worn. Imperfect. Not dusty, though. Or dirty.
